Overview

Spentence is a personal income and expense tracker that works entirely on your iPhone. This policy explains what happens to what you enter. In short, it stays on your iPhone, and we never see it.

What we collect

Nothing. Spentence has no account to sign in to, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It doesn't connect to the internet, so it sends none of your data anywhere.

What the app stores

The accounts, categories, transactions, transfers, budget, exchange rates and receipt photos you enter, and your settings. They're kept only on this iPhone, in the app's own storage, which other apps can't read.

Your iPhone's iCloud or computer backups include this data, as they do for other apps. Those backups are made and kept by Apple or on your computer, under your control.

Camera and photos

Spentence uses the camera or your photo library only when you add a receipt. It keeps only the picture you choose, made smaller to save space.

Face ID

If you turn on App Lock, iOS checks your Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. Spentence only learns whether the check passed. It never sees your face or fingerprint data.

Backups and exports you make

A Spentence backup, a CSV export, or receipts saved to Files from Settings › Receipts are files you create, and you choose where they go. Once they leave the app, they're in your hands. They aren't encrypted, so keep them somewhere safe: anyone who has them can see your data.

Spentence keeps no copy of them. The one it makes for the share sheet or for Files is deleted once you're done with it.

Deleting your data

Settings › Erase All Data deletes all your data and settings from this iPhone. Only two display choices stay: Appearance and Hide net worth. Deleting the app removes everything.

This website

This website has no cookies, analytics or advertising, and it loads nothing from other sites. The server that sends these pages keeps no record of your visit.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version comes with an app update and a new date at the top.
